Actual Japanese in the kitchen and serving.
Not sure. How about a phone call to them?
No I think they have more traditional ramen and sushi offerings
There is not all you can eat, as far as I know. The sushi is great, I've been going there for many years now and is still one of my favorites. Avg per person is $20/$30
Been going here for 20 years. Always great food, good portions, excellent prices. They always had exclent staff but now have one rather grumpy server. :(
Bang for buck. Go for a full house roll if you're just looking for quantity. Loved the spicy salmon sashimi and crunchy roll. Might be crowded at times.
The sushi is really good. The service good The place looks clean. About the price good too
My parents ordered take out from this place for us and for $50 we had more than enough sushi to feed 5 people. For the price, the quality is amazing. I was extremely suprised and will go back as much as I can.
In terms of quality and pricepoint, it's hard to beat Samurai Sushi. The service is great, and the rolls are HUGE. I almost always get a half order of the house roll, and it is fantastic value. It's the perfect post-swim/workout meal.
It's the most reasonably priced sushi place in Vancouver I have found so far. The rolls are not well displayed but the sashimi seems fresh and the portion is relatively big. Would come back.
Generous portions, decent pricing with quick service makes this an excellent place to get a spot of sushi under circumstances.
Too much rice on their rolls. Quality of ingredients is okay. Ordered a chicken teriyaki, salmon don, katsu curry. All acceptable dishes.
The portion sizes are huge and I mean huge!!! The house roll was the size of my palm and it was cheap! Good prices also. Very fresh sushi, the fish just melts in your mouth. It's definitely not frozen. This is a definite go to. Parking around the area is awful, but it's a good walk.
I went there One more time in the day they have fresher sushi than at night I love it
Historic Sushi place in Vancouver. Good food. Very efficient waitresses. Most have been working there for years. Food is good price is decent considering the large portion. Sushi size are a bit overwhelming: it may feel like you have half a fish in your plate...
Actually, I don’t know why there is so many people come to eat here. I mean the size of Japanese food here are so big and the price is reasonable, but it comes the flavor, I would say there must somewhere else is better than here. Take example of sushi, the fish on the top of rice is not fresh and I can chew rib.
Amazing food with decent prices. I'm from Edmonton so I don't get good sushi that often but the sushi I had here was so fresh and portioned quite large. Oh, and if you order the house roll - a half order is plenty ;)
Huuuuge portions in the combination meals and very tasty Japanese food. I really respect the fact that samurai offers Brown rice options for all menu items. Cosy, simple ambience and plenty of tea refills are given. They have alcoholic drinks too. Definitely go here if you want a good value meal on Davie Street out of the rain.
A consistent favorite for Japanese food. The Udon is delicious and their BC and Crunchy rolls are always well prepared. This place is great for a nice dinner or a quick To go for sushi at home. It's a gem of a place to eat at and I go there often.
A very cute and origin place. Real japanese food for instance katsu or sushi. How you like it. And the price is absolute ok. The service is fast. Thank you guys.
Nice place for lunch with gummy jap food =]
I have been going here for years and the food is always good. Large portions offer good value for money.
Great Sushi and Asian cuisine! The have yummy combos and sushi. The prices are very fair but be careful the servings are gigantic.
One word: yummy! We got there just before the rush...five mins wait is nothing ...
Love their salmon kama very much!
Nice spot for sushi as a vegetarian - there are several good options including a natto roll. The maki rolls are big (at least two bites a piece) with lots of filling. Great quality and price.
Always my family's go to Japanese restaurant because it's authentic andrun by Japanese people (not the others run by Chinese, Vietnamese or Koreans) food quality is fresh, service is attentive (someone is always carrying a teapot surveying for empty tea cups) Space is limited so may need to wait outside for a table if busy. They will give you a number card and you wait outside, which could be a bad thing during cold winter times.
Delicious and inexpensive, large portions, friendly and efficient staff. Loved it!
Have been going for years. Price/value has decreased. Yes, Big Rolls, BUT fish: filler ratio has drastically changed while prices increased. They shouldn't have Compromised Both price and quality.2 Alaska rolls+ pathetic salmon skin salad (which used to have actual salmon meat- Google what it should look like, not JUST blackened skin. Not kidding. Not a morsel of meat) was $18. Big portions but in a short span of time has become less of a deal. I used to drive from kits to downtown for this, but, sadly, will stick to closer sushi restaurants now.
Good selection. Sushi portions are huge. Quality is high. Price is good.
Suprisingly good sushi in a great ambience as well as super nice waiters.I especially enjoyed the J-Pop playing in background.
The best Japanese restaurant in the whole east Vancouver, the staff is so kind, the food always great and tasty, if you visit Vamcouver, this is a must.
Excellent sushi. Not many tables so be prepared to wait a bit during regular dining time. Definitely worth the wait.
Food is good but the service not that good.
My friends and I really enjoy this place. The servings are huge. The service is very efficient. I really enjoy having this as a reliable meeting place for my friends and I to get a meal. I also love that I don't have to choose between hot food and sushi--I can order a combination meal. I think it's also refreshing that I continually see the same staff. It seems like they don't have an aggressive turn-over like other restaurants. I often recommend this location to anyone visiting Vancouver and headed to Stanley Park for the day.
Service is great ! Food is great ! Price is great ! What else can you ask for ?
Great quality, great prices, friendly service. Haven't had a bad dish there yet!Everytime we are in Van visiting, we always make sure we hit this place up at least once during the trip.
The staff were adequate and the restaurant had a decent atmosphere. What really sold me, however, was the food. By far the tastiest and freshest fish I've had at a sushi restaurant. Also, the rolls are stuffed full! They really don't skimp on the rolls which I appreciate.
Always good, always fast Great for take out or for dine in Good specials Docking 2 stars for hostess tho
Took our granddaughter and her boyfriend. The food was amazing. Fresh, large portions, quick service and served with a smile. Just don't find that kind of service much these days. I am recommending it to family and friends. I'd give it a 10.
Oh my goodness this place is incredible. We got two whole meals (mine was tofu teriyaki with rice, miso soup, vegetables, AND huge sushi rolls), more sushi - we left full and with leftovers - all for around £8 EACH including tip (14CAD)!! The storefront might not look like it does the best sushi ever but that’s what makes it so special. The seaweed was perfect and the rice a good flavour and so much filling. We were so shocked at just how delicious and good value it is. Highly recommend.
I stumbled across this place accidentally, and I am glad I did. This is a small space packed with tables that seem to be in high demand. I was there at lunchtime and got one of their lunch specials. Yum! Everything was so fresh, so delicious, I enjoyed eating here immensely. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I am going to come again, definitely.Part 2:I ate there on my first day in Vancouver and kept thinking about coming back every day. So I did.The lunch specials are good-sized meals, prices are low, the quality of food is wonderful. The special rolls are huge, literally the size of my palm. Their agedashi tofu is fantastic. I love this place!
Cozy place.Affordable prices for students.Big proton, They have lots of different kind of menu.I had oysters. They served by pieces. It was tasty.Chopped scallops roll was tasty too!
We had takeaway from here an it was so good and so much and we payed really little. Amazing quality and amazing food we definitely get more sushi from here!!!
This is one of the best sushi houses on the west end. I eat here every day when I visit Van.
I just tried the (vegan) avocado rolls with brown rice a couple of times and they were delicious! I loved it. I haven't tried any other dish though.
Awesome little spot. Cheap, big portions and solid sushi. Don’t expect anything fancy
Decent-ish price and good portion. The grills and some deep fried are pretty good, especially the chicken karage, but the rest of the dishes ranges from non-impressive to sub-par. Their tempuras are over battered and extremely greasy and the rice bowls are usually on the salty side. The ingredients however seems fresh and the quality of the dishes are consistent. Service staff are helpful and friendly.
I just called into Samurai Sushi for lunch. It is a small restaurant with a welcoming and cosy atmosphere. The staff are very pleasant, helpful and efficient. The food was fantastic, and the fish was of an excellent quality. I opted for a sashimi combo which included miso, sashimi, tempura vegetables, teriyaki chicken (or beef) and rice. It is very reasonably priced and I was blown away by the portion sizes. Very enjoyable, I would highly recommend...
Tifically women is surver.. men make sushi.Almost all sushi restarant seperate sex, is almost all mens misogyny. And sushi was little good. And price is soooo chip.
